An early post mentioned a Peace dollar scandal. What was it?
An artificially toned Peace Dollar ended up in an NGC slab in 2006 and was put up for sale with a huge price tag by Anaconda Rare Coins who specialized in rainbow toned coins. It was nicknamed Peacegate on the forums. I used to have a photo of the coin but I can't seem to find it anywhere. And the only thread I could find about it is linked below.

I bought this 6 years ago after someone freshly dipped it. It has been sitting in my Dansco ever since. I think it is about time to send it to our hosts for a grade.
What do you guys think it will grade and do you like the secondary toning?

@Broadstruck, I absolutely love that Sac error coin. The color of the coin makes me wish that was the intended alloy.

What metal is that?

Let me guess, NGC MS66 3123097-007.
I sold that coin last year, the luster is fantastic.

Speaking of Lehigh96, I just received this beast from him.
NGC MS67*
It breaks my heart to have to sell coins like this Lincoln, but honestly, that coin fits much better in your collection than mine and I am thrilled that you have it now. Here is my photo using diffused lighting in contrast to Bob's magnificent photo.

From a member ATS. I have wanted one of these for a very long time.
Hi Paul,
The images are too small to read the labels...what exactly are these? They are cool whatever they are!
-Brandon
They were privately minted by the FSNC (Full Step Nickel Club) with Felix Schlag's original award winning design. They forced him to make drastic changes to his design before minting, especially the reverse. There were 1,938 sets minted and encapsulated by SEGS and this is set #820.

I wish my NEWP had a star, that would inch me closer to the number one spot in the war nickel registry. Guess I will just have to settle for top pop.

I sent it to NGC yesterday and I will let everyone know what the grade when I find out. I am hoping for MS64+ or MS65. I purchased it raw at MS64 price.
