Our favourite modern coin store MCM has this to say
The United States Mint is experiencing delays in getting the necessary planchets to strike the 2009 Ultra High Relief gold coins. No one knows for sure, but we believe that by mid year quantity will be readily available. However, near term supply shortages are almost certain at this point. Therefore, we do not expect to begin offering these for sale until late February or maybe even March. Despite the official release date of January 22nd, we
My 2 latest submissions are yet to leave USPS
One sent on 23/12 from Australia, arrived 27th into Customs.. still says inbound into customs
One sent 6th JAN ! arrives in LA on the 9th and is also inbound into customs. I'll definitely post if this one comes out first !
Must be a hell of a backup of mail around this time. Spare a thought for the postal workers too. Personally I haven't lost a package yet so they do a good job..
First Spouse join the list of products ?
Anyone know what happened ? all first spouse coins are now not available ! ouch ! Someone has let me know, they have been repriced up about $50. Thanks ! well the prices at some dealers are really great. Have a look around if you want one.. I am getting the two 70's I need.
I had a 1/4 oz gold proof on hold in stock and reserved..
I get an email which says SOLDOUT
We regret to inform you that the item(s) listed below are currently sold out. A customer service representative will be happy to assist you in finding an alternative item.
But if I track the order number it says SHIPPED, but no tracking information and I haven't been billed. Must be a mistake, surely? I'll check my card again soon!
Wondering whether it is worth it to buy another two 1/10th oz.
Well maybe today for me.. already the 8th here in Australia
Good luck to all who have competitive sets, signature sets and journals. We will soon know what the judges thought..
First Day Covers..
I had lots of first day covers slabbed.. and sure enough there is a special set for First Day of Mintage $1. Great !! I just made a set. Must be time to send off more covers soon
Previously I sent my proof Canberra florin which should be delivered to NGC any day now..
Today I sent my 1855 Sovereign which should receive XF, fingers crossed.
Also in the package were some Gilded Kookaburra, and Subscription S$1 proof. I have requested this set 1996- date in the forum, it is a fabulous series and one of the most anticipated releases each year. No coin in 2001 so only 12 coins so far. A full set of 12 could be had for maybe $700 raw
The coins have varying mintages and v
Wow..
That is one awesome little T hiding in there. Congrats ! I don't know if other varieties would be as interesting and grab you as a hunter but this is a nice find

You should purchase a 2005 Australia proof sovereign. It has the exact same reverse as the first sov. It has a book by sov expert Andrew Crellin, a nice chunky book full of detailed information about the settlement, the setting up of the mint, the Adelaide ingots, Adelaide pounds, and the 1855 Sovereign (and other sovs)
It is a must have. If you are lucky and patient you can pick up these slabbed with FIRST 1000 STRUCK, and velvel
Here is the description from the English side of the card that came with it. These are from the Chinese mint in Taiwan
The Central mint vacuum-cast the worlds heaviest gold ingot weighing 220.3kg to be the main attraction and crowning achievement of its new gold museum in Rui-Fang Township, Taipei County. The Central Mint has minted these medals especially to memorialize this auspicious event.

I have been buying these now for over a week.
I have already amassed a large number of silver dollars in mint state, hopefully lots of 70. I will be offering them in the money marketplace on the Collectors Society forum once graded. More info to come.
In a moment.. my awesome latest acquisition.. from China
Great addition !

This is just great.. I cannot put into words how important this is
Best of all, free, fully integrated, and with server side file security everything is thought of.. to counterfeit a NGC coin now you need to
a) see the one you want, in holder, with serial number
b) produce an exact copy of the holder, label, hologram sticker
c) also produce the coin in the same condition, right down to visible bagmarks, ton
1927 Canberra Florin PROOF
I am fortunate enough to now own a lovely proof canberra florin, 400 minted in 1927. Many circulated, they were a public issue proof
I have seen horrible badly polished ones, this one has only circulation hairlines and I can't really find any wear either. Its definitely a proof, has wire rims and the right strike characteristics, some mirror left but not deep
Probably going to NCS.. I would dearly love to see it in a NGC PF61 holder. A PF67 or other of the still
US Mint
Since apparently this is the last year for fractionals, I thought it prudent to buy a 1/4 oz and two 1/10 oz proofs to go with my 1/2 proof (which graded 70)
The buffalos are already no longer available. It might be time to act if you feel the same way as me, they will be gone soon too
Another platinum eagle set is next on the agenda. The 2008 fractions are all gone now and how long will a 2007 issue last ? if platinum goes up at all they will discontinue and melt IMO
2007-
Only 2007 and 2008 previously gone, easy enough because I'm Australian. For once things favour me ! I just ordered 10 of the 2009 from the Perth Mint
If you need a 2009P Koala, let me know. When they come back I'll offer some for sale
I have a Morgan ! kinda...
I really like some of these. The 2006-S gold reverse is stunning and will grab that next.. and the silver WOW I love this one as much as the current Bald Eagle dollar. What a great tribute to the Morgan reverse.
I'm too scared to look at some of the rarer issues. Will there be original boxed ones out there I can buy ? lets hope, some have single figure slabbed 70 !
So far I have these in PF 70 Ultra Cameo

Set complete if this grades at NGC
Bought myself a present for Saturday. My type set now complete. Australia's Sovereigns, 9 coins. 7 are in Choice, one easy upgrade to give me something to upgrade later. Only the 1855 is too hard to get in that grade.
Our first sovereign, 1855
Sorry for the bad image JPEG quality, would rather keep a decent sized image should grade XF
Pretty happy today.
Finally got that refund on a Jackson's Liberty. Paid 620 US plus shipping which was little over 700 AUD
Refunded amount shows as $990.80 ! I am shocked, and very happy
Now fingers crossed the AUD comes back by the time Van Buren's Liberty comes out..
On now
Just checked the site and found a new category. Everyone should check it out.. some notables that might be of interest

1912M Australia 1 Sov NGC MS64
1914S Australia 1 Sov NGC MS64
Somebody stop me.. I need the money but some of these coins are really hard to sell without crying. The 1798 1/3G for example blows the 1797 away, the luster and
Slowly things are coming together nicely
Yesterday my gold proof eagles sold at a tidy profit, listed only on eBay from when I listed at night until I woke up with an offer ! thanks mainly to the US to AUD conversion, I made a bit on them..
And then there was the email.. US Mint, refund completed. 619.95 US for a Jacksons Liberty (I still have two, one is a definite 70)
At the going rate, it should be around 930 AUD or a profit of $200 on the refund.. well how could things get any better ?
Great news !
I wonder how long until I can put my 1937 gold set as a competitive set ! it will be at around $12,000 USD cost when complete - all 4 coins PF66 CAMEO (I'd expect 12,000+ points right?)
May I now present the first NGC competitive set for Great Britain. My 1821-1828 half sovereign set
http://www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=69044
I have also updated my sovereign type set for Australia in anticipation of progress for our sets too. (I'd expe
I'll be sending to NGC soon..
THREE of these babies, all proofs. Also my $5 Gold Proof Bald Eagle Commemorative, and another $1 Silver proof commem, which is my third ! absolutely love the flying eagle, best coin in the series by far
Back to the Jackson.. I got an email my next has shipped, so soon I will have 2. When the 3rd arrives, I'll get them graded. Fingers crossed ! although, I have been examining them and think the first is a 69.
So far only 10 in the pop report, all showed up on
Thanks NumisMedia and NGC !!
I am very pleased to see the prices now in my competitive set, a proof gold spouse set. Overjoyed..
$1060 for Louisa Adams PF70 ? this one really that hard to get ? suits me !
