Considerable delays expected with Ultra High Relief G$20

Our favourite modern coin store MCM has this to say The United States Mint is experiencing delays in getting the necessary planchets to strike the 2009 Ultra High Relief gold coins. No one knows for sure, but we believe that by mid year quantity will be readily available. However, near term supply shortages are almost certain at this point. Therefore, we do not expect to begin offering these for sale until late February or maybe even March. Despite the official release date of January 22nd, we

Conflicting information from US Mint.. my fingers are now crossed...

I had a 1/4 oz gold proof on hold in stock and reserved.. I get an email which says SOLDOUT We regret to inform you that the item(s) listed below are currently sold out. A customer service representative will be happy to assist you in finding an alternative item. But if I track the order number it says SHIPPED, but no tracking information and I haven't been billed. Must be a mistake, surely? I'll check my card again soon! Wondering whether it is worth it to buy another two 1/10th oz.

Sent off another submission.. that makes two now, more to come

Previously I sent my proof Canberra florin which should be delivered to NGC any day now.. Today I sent my 1855 Sovereign which should receive XF, fingers crossed. Also in the package were some Gilded Kookaburra, and Subscription S$1 proof. I have requested this set 1996- date in the forum, it is a fabulous series and one of the most anticipated releases each year. No coin in 2001 so only 12 coins so far. A full set of 12 could be had for maybe $700 raw The coins have varying mintages and v

Dear booksandcoins

Please enable private messaging, I cannot send you a message You should purchase a 2005 Australia proof sovereign. It has the exact same reverse as the first sov. It has a book by sov expert Andrew Crellin, a nice chunky book full of detailed information about the settlement, the setting up of the mint, the Adelaide ingots, Adelaide pounds, and the 1855 Sovereign (and other sovs) It is a must have. If you are lucky and patient you can pick up these slabbed with FIRST 1000 STRUCK, and velvel

NGC adds photo imaging to certitfication.. hurray !!!!!

Great addition ! http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=1147 This is just great.. I cannot put into words how important this is Best of all, free, fully integrated, and with server side file security everything is thought of.. to counterfeit a NGC coin now you need to a) see the one you want, in holder, with serial number b) produce an exact copy of the holder, label, hologram sticker c) also produce the coin in the same condition, right down to visible bagmarks, ton

A very lucky purchase

1927 Canberra Florin PROOF I am fortunate enough to now own a lovely proof canberra florin, 400 minted in 1927. Many circulated, they were a public issue proof I have seen horrible badly polished ones, this one has only circulation hairlines and I can't really find any wear either. Its definitely a proof, has wire rims and the right strike characteristics, some mirror left but not deep Probably going to NCS.. I would dearly love to see it in a NGC PF61 holder. A PF67 or other of the still

More purchases in gold proof eagles

US Mint Since apparently this is the last year for fractionals, I thought it prudent to buy a 1/4 oz and two 1/10 oz proofs to go with my 1/2 proof (which graded 70) The buffalos are already no longer available. It might be time to act if you feel the same way as me, they will be gone soon too Another platinum eagle set is next on the agenda. The 2008 fractions are all gone now and how long will a 2007 issue last ? if platinum goes up at all they will discontinue and melt IMO

Started another US set - Modern Commemoratives 1982- Proofs

I have a Morgan ! kinda... I really like some of these. The 2006-S gold reverse is stunning and will grab that next.. and the silver WOW I love this one as much as the current Bald Eagle dollar. What a great tribute to the Morgan reverse. I'm too scared to look at some of the rarer issues. Will there be original boxed ones out there I can buy ? lets hope, some have single figure slabbed 70 ! So far I have these in PF 70 Ultra Cameo 1987-W CONSTITUTION $5 2006-P BEN FRANKLIN SCIENTIST S

Yesterday one of those great days..

Slowly things are coming together nicely Yesterday my gold proof eagles sold at a tidy profit, listed only on eBay from when I listed at night until I woke up with an offer ! thanks mainly to the US to AUD conversion, I made a bit on them.. And then there was the email.. US Mint, refund completed. 619.95 US for a Jacksons Liberty (I still have two, one is a definite 70) At the going rate, it should be around 930 AUD or a profit of $200 on the refund.. well how could things get any better ?
