1st 1oz BU Libertad with a PL Designation

I acquired this coins as part of my set. This coin was purchased raw and i knew i had something special. I submitted it for grading along with a few other 1990 but because this was the first and only libertad to be given the PL designation, its now in my registery set. As the collector base keeps growing i think there could be more coins like this that appear. Very special 1982 BU libertad

Picked up a great find today. Before i talk about the coin, i want to mention something about the 1990 MS67 PL i have in the registry set. The 1990 proof like i have is the only proof like designation given to a BU libertad. I found the 1990 and knew it was special and had it graded along with a bunch of other coins. Now for the 1982. 2000 1 OnZa BU MS70 pop 1

Yesterday i acquired the one and only 1 oz BU MS70 libertad for the year 2000. The 2000 BU 1 Onza MS70 is the only MS70 graded for that year. It was also the 3rd MS70 to be graded since the series started in 1982 and there wouldn't be another libertad graded MS70 for another 10 years until 2010 when 1 more hit the grade. By the beginning of 2011 there were only 4 1oz BU libertads that made the perfect grade of MS70 and only 7 more would attain perfection in 2011. In 2012 190 received the perfe

stepping up to #1

This was a day where i had some time to finish adding to the 1oz libertad set and in the end this is now the #1 registry set. Today i added the last of my coins i had and and now all slots are filled with the exceptio of the 2010. The coins i am focusing on are the 1982, 1986, 1987 DDO and 1995 as these are a little weak and are due for an upgrade. The difficult thing about upgrading these are most are already 1 or two grades from the top grade as it is. Although many of the coins in this set

LIBERTAD grades posted by NGC

Sent in 50 coins and had a few nights email surprises. The first coin I had to check for was a 1990 to see if I was given a PL designation. Sure enough it came back as a 1990 PL67 making it the very first and only proof like designation given to a BU libertad. Next exciting coin was the 87 double die, this came back as a MS67, only one graded higher. A few coins to note, one 1992 came back as a MS69, a 1984, 88, came back MS67. A 1997 achieved a MS69. Libertad registry set update

Added some more today including pics. Added some more today as we are housebound due to the hurricane. All i have left are 9 more slots out of 34 and maybe most of those will be filled when i get my coins back from NGC. One coin i am excited to get back from NGC is my 2015 1oz reverse proof libertad as ot graded out at PL70. Final stages of my Registry set.

Although i have been doing this for just about 1 year i am almost done with putting together the complete Zombucks series as the last coin is out and yes it was a nice surprise, St Guadens to the rescue. Yes, all BU and proofs. But really, this is about completing my Libertad registry set.
