Save my family sale

24 posts in this topic

I don't really know how to begin to tell everyone what I am up against here but suffice it to say I have made the difficult decision to sell off a lot of my coins in an effort to keep my family intact. I have been with my wife for 18 years and could never imagine a world without her but upon my return from a recent business trip she has made it clear that she felt she was settling for less by being with me and one of the many factors involved being a financial one.

I am numb as I type this, but I am going to try everything within my power to keep my family together..........it truly is the only thing worth anything to me in life. When all is said and done I don't know if getting rid of all these coins will have any bearing on her staying with me.........but If I don't at least try I will always regret not doing so.

I have had a wonderful time on this and other forums and I have been truly blessed to make so many friends who have passion in their lives like I do. Those friendships will not be forgotten even if I am no longer on the forums (hopefully I can still be a part of the boards). I wish you all well in case I don't make it back and I want to thank you for your kindness over the years.

Some of my better stuff might be consigned to an auction house for liquidation but I might consider posting some of those coins here and on Ebay as well, depending on how things go with my wife. I accept Checks, Money Orders and of course Paypal (kryptonitecomics@adelphia.net). If you see anything you like please PM me so I can remove the listing as I will be posting this message across several forums and will be looking at the PM timestamps to determine who contacted me first. Thanks

Shane sorry to hear of this situation. I will look at my funds tonight and see where I stand. I see a few in there I am going to want. Hope it all works out. God Bless!

I haven't been hanging around the boards as much lately and it was with sorrow that I read your note today.

The good news is that your priorities are in the correct order - family is first. From my heart, I wish you the best possible outcome from this trial and hope that your family remain intact and that, when the time is correct for you, the allure of coin collecting draws you back.

God bless you and best wishes.

Hoping for the best for you, Shane. Don't try to second-guess yourself. You ARE doing the right thing. Nothing is more important than your family.

I wanted to let Everyone who purchased a coin from me and already paid know that the coins all went out today fully insured. Thanks again

Good luck Shane.

I really wanted that proof Lincoln. I would have paid more for it. If the other party backs out, please let me know.

Sorry Chinook.....wish I had known.....the buyer already paid and the coin has been shipped. I will be selling all of my Proof IHC's off shortly and was planning to put them up for auction etc. If you are interested in any of them maybe we could work something out before I consign them?

I am making progress folks......I might only be up to a 5% chance of her staying but I feel like all of the changes I have made and all of the talking my wife and I have done over the past week is helping. The coins still have to go but if the family stays together.......I might still be able to get back into coins with a better financial plan and a little more control down the road. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Glad to see that things are looking up for you! I have every confidence that

your wife is impressed by your actions. I’m not psychoanalyzing you all but it

has been my experience that if women really want to leave they just do it.

The fact that she is talking is a good sign buddy! Best of luck.

Hey, a good compromise might be searching circulated coins. I do it. I know

Billy does it too and I’m sure there are lots of guys here that do as well. You

get to stay in the hobby that you love and the cost is literally pocket change!

With an eye like yours I bet you could put together a great collection!

When you get back into coins if you do, find me. I have a coin I know you will want and I will make you a smoking deal on it. Hope it all works out.
