Popular Post Sandon
1950 Booker T. Washington commemorative half dollar, PCGS graded MS 65, with the usual abrasions in any grade below MS 67. The distribution of this issue was 6,004, with the odd 4 pieces undoubtedly being assay coins. This coin in this grade lists $140 on the PCGS Price Guide, $130 on the NGC Price Guide, $100 in Coin World, and only $50 in CPG. I asked the dealer who had it at a coin show this week how much he wanted for it, and he replied "$48. I don't know why it was submitted." I happily paid the $48. Now I only need one coin, the 1951-S, to complete the set. imnotaminion, CIII, Henri Charriere and 2 others

Grades MS 63 Valued @ $320.00 Aside from a possible cleaning, these are difficult to get an MS grade on. I think this one you got is AU 58 as far as the details go. Hope you get better back though. Mike Meenderink
It's not cleaned it is completely original. There are no signs of wear. I have compared it to AU 58 and its way better. It's going out next week. Fingers crossed. Henri Charriere
ldhair
From the images I would give it 50 or 53. The fields look a bit rough. Mike Meenderink

You obviously do not know how to grade a silver 3C Nickel ID. This coin is above average and in MS condition. Look at the (obv) center ridges on the star no wear.. tips of star no wear.. shield has both outer lines no wear...edge is still sharp on rim and the flow lines show through the natural toning with underlying luster. The reverse shows no wear the top of the diamond is sharp. If it doesn't grade above MS 60 I'll give it to you as a trophy for being right. Goodluck. ldhair
I'll ignore the insults. The fields look rough, with or without any clash. I'm not able to match the marks in the obverse fields to anything that makes me think it's from a clash. On 6/22/2024 at 5:55 PM, Mike Meenderink said: You can actually see a star on the reverse. Popular Post powermad5000
For a change of gears (potential segue), this arrived today to my happiness. If there was ever a case for someone who wanted a details coin, this would be it for me. I get that it will get a details grade for the big scratch on the cheek, but the rest of the coin is why I wanted it. The strike is excellent as far as it being fully struck and the surface is smooth and all original with nice color. I am happy to have this piece despite what I know the slab will say on it when it comes back. I took pics at different angles due to the light reflecting back on the first set and so you could better see the original color and surface. Just Bob
The three cent piece appears to exhibit Indirect Die Transfer, or “ghosting,” rather than a die clash. Fenntucky Mike and ldhair
