Jon,

 

The color on both coins is superb. The 44-S has a real shot at MS67, are you going to have it graded? I always love a toned war nickel. Nice pick ups!

Paul, Yes I'm going to have them graded. There are more nice coins in the set that I plan on grading as well. I just couldn't capture the toning well.

 

I believe the '44-s should grade ms67, as the luster is booming and very minimal contact marks in hand.

I opened this thread tonight and suddenly realized that I made the OP four years ago (well, plus a couple months). My, how time flies. I always enjoy visiting to see what others have recently added to their collections, and and I learn a lot by viewing the coins (and comments) posted here. To mark the passage of time, I thought I'd repost pictures of the first coin in the thread followed by more recent -- though still pretty old now -- pictures of the same coin. The good news is that I still like it!

For whatever reason I was unable to download the

images of my new 1894 Nickel in PCGS PR 64, yet

this morning I had no trouble at all.
