Do you collect business strikes too?

Not right now but maybe someday.

I like to collect the toned proofs because they usually don't bring a high premium for color.

I also prefer to work on one set at a time!!

Wow! Alot of nice coins since the last time I posted in this thread. :golfclap:

Over the weekend I spent a good few hours at a local coin stop looking for coins to fill my various date sets. I found quite a bit and started a couple of new date sets. (Large cents and Barber quarters.)

I will not bother you guys with the couple dozen coins I bought for my sets but here are a few coins that I bought because I liked them.

Here is a '62 proof nickel... It has some light cameo but otherwise it looks pretty plain in these pictures.

However it has some beautiful toning.

This Mercury dime has a lot more luster and color than the pics would suggest.

This will be an experiment in acetone conservation. If it comes out ok it will go into my Dansco 7070. It has a very good strike with almost full stars even with VF25ish details.

This Dime will be a space filler in my 7070 until I can find a non problematic one in my price range.

Speaking of "CC" 's - This new one for me was purchased from board member JakeBlue ... A slightly hammered PL but must have been nice in its day!

Picked up another MPL. This one from Heritage. The Heritage images weren't bad, but didn't show any toning, but did show quite a bit of luster. I was going to place a bid anyway, but before I did, I plugged in the cert number at PCGS and they had a Trueview. That image made my mind up me.

BOB....she is a winner!! (worship) I bet you got it at a decent price also!!

I got it for the reserve price. Thank goodness the TrueView wasn't on their site or the price would have doubled.
