THREE CENT PIECES:

1866 Three Cent Nickel NGC PR65 $1450

I am usually reluctant to include the terribly over-used and over-hyped word "rainbow" when describing the toning on my coins, but the obverse of this one does indeed feature delicate, captivating rainbow hues. The image doesn't even begin to show the wonderful colors or beauty of this coin. The reverse, for its part, displays light pink and lavender shades. From an original mintage estimated at just 725+.

NICKELS:

SOLD 1882 Shield Nickel PCGS PR66 $925

1883 Shield Nickel NGC PR66 $825

Delicate ice-blue iridescence highlights the obverse of this highly pleasing example, giving it plenty of personality and charm.

Please note - images should be available late next week.

HALF DIMES:

1850 Stars Obverse Seated Liberty Half Dime NGC MS65 $1250

Originally and delightfully toned. Obverse possesses lavender, cobalt-blue and golden hues; reverse with medium blue patina complemented by pink highlights. Sharply detailed with uncommonly clean surfaces for the assigned grade and no obvious distractions on either side.

Please note - images should be available late next week.

1872 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Half Dime PCGS PR64 $695

Flashy, with deeply reflective surfaces easily apparent from beneath the attractive, medium depth bluish-purple toning on both sides. This little coin packs a big wallop.

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/halfdime1872%20%20rev.jpg

DIMES:

1886 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime NGC MS64 $475

A fine looking, semi-prooflike example. The obverse boasts lovely colorful toning, more noticeable about the periphery, while the reverse is primarily antique-white in hue. Far more appealing than the large majority of MS64 (and even MS65) examples that you are apt to encounter.

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dime1886%20rev.jpg

1897 Barber Dime PCGS MS64 $300

Frankly, on a sigh-unseen basis, I'd have no interest in an MS65 Barber Dime. This one, however, is nicely toned, with sparkling luster and unusual, semi-prooflike fields. A patch of small scrapes on Liberty's lower neck precludes a higher grade.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dime1897%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dime1897%20rev.jpg

1907 Barber Dime PCGS PR64 Cameo $725

Light centers and frosted devices are offset by colorful original toning at the borders. Only 575 proofs were struck for this issue, making it the 6th lowest mintage for the series.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dime1907%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dime1907%20rev.jpg

QUARTERS:

1890 Motto Seated Liberty Quarter NGC MS65 $1625

The production of 1890 Quarters saw a dramatic percentage increase compared to the previous year, yet still only 80,590 were issued. This next to last-year-of-issue representative bespeaks originality with its delightful mixture of sea-green, pale violet and pink hues over frosty surfaces. Its strike is bold and there are no noteworthy imperfections on either obverse or reverse. This sure seems like an excellent relative value in today's market.

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/quarter1890%20rev.jpg

SOLD: 1897 Barber Quarter PCGS PR65 $1900

HALF DOLLARS:

1892 Barber Half Dollar NGC PR64 $1575

Deep, yet instantly appealing violet and steel-blue toning is present on this still-deeply mirrored reflective example. It bears a few too many hairlines to merit a PR65 grade and an extra $1000 or so in price, but certainly has a nice overall look to it. Despite having the highest Proof mintage for the entire series, only 1245 1892's were produced.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/halfdollar1892%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/halfdollar1892%20rev.jpg

1915-D Barber Half Dollar PCGS MS66 $4600

Here is a very tough combination for a type and grade, especially when considering that this one actually earned the assigned grade. This is one of just 10 MS66's to have been certified by PCGS with none higher. As such, its population is only slightly more than 1/4th that of the 1892 (MS66 population of 37). The good news is that this date does not trade at a premium, despite the population differential. The other good news is that this is a pristine piece with superior surfaces (much more so than they appear in the large images) and fresh looking luster peaking through the delicate patina. Certain to be greatly appreciated and coveted by the serious type and/or Barber collector.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/halfdollar1915D%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/halfdollar1915D%20rev.jpg

DOLLARS:

1892 Morgan Dollar PCGS PR63 $2150

Impressively toned in a broad array of colors on both sides, with plenty of reflectivity to the mirror surfaces. Scattered patches of hairlines, mostly on the obverse, are obvious only under close scrutiny, but keep this specimen at the PR63 grade level. A fine coin for the grade and price.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dollar1892%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/dollarl1892%20rev.jpg

SILVER COMMEMORATIVES:

1892 Columbian PCGS MS65 $650

Not at all tough to locate in this grade, but this one is lusciously toned on both sides and possesses vibrant luster, as well. A beauty!

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemMS651892columbian%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemMS651892columbian%20rev.jpg

1893 Columbian NGC MS62 $200

Who, in their right mind, would pay MS64 $ for a lowly MS62 Columbian? I would, I did, and so will many other buyers when the "MS62" looks this good. Much better looking in person than in the images, this puts most MS64's to shame in the eye-appeal and luster departments.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemcolumbian%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemcolumbian%20rev.jpg

Lexington PCGS MS65 $700

The images unfairly magnify the imperfections on this superior (MS65) Lexington. I paid roughly a $100 premium for its nice color and quality. It deserves to be examined in person. The first person who does so will almost certainly be pleased and impressed.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemlexington%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemlexington%20rev.jpg

Maryland PCGS MS66 $850

A very tough issue to obtain with any amount of attractive color and/or eye-appeal. The presently offered example displays above average luster, as well as delicate lilac toning, with traces of golden-red iridescence at portions of the obverse border. Clearly not your everyday MS66 Maryland, yet offered at a very reasonable price.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemmaryland%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemmaryland%20rev.jpg

Roanoke NGC MS66 $500

Lustrous and delicately, though beautifully toned, primarily about the obverse periphery. Much better looking in person.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemroanoke%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/commemroanoke%20rev.jpg

GOLD:

1836 Block 8 Classic $2.50 NGC AU58 $2500

An honest, nearly mint state, AU58, as compared to the many pretenders which are seen, but don't belong in AU58 holders. Lighter and more golden-yellow in hue than it appears in the images. Original and highly attractive looking.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/goldtwohalf1836obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/goldtwohalf1836%20rev.jpg

1837 Classic $2.50 PCGS XF45 $1175

As is the case with the AU58 1836 example above, this XF45 1837 Classic Quarter Eagle is more golden-yellow and lighter in person, as compared to the images. Remaining luster can be seen on both sides of this original looking coin (sadly, such is not always the case with XF45's), and the scattered abrasions/imperfections are unobtrusive.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/goldtwohalf1837%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/goldtwohalf1837%20rev.jpg

SOLD 1834 Plain 4 Classic $5 NGC AU58 $2350

1884-S $5 Liberty PCGS MS64 $3500

Ultra flashy with semi-prooflike surfaces and dazzling luster. Fully struck, with just a few too many small abrasions to garner an MS65 grade and much higher price tag. Housed in an older green-label PCGS holder. A very scarce issue - this is 1 of just 7 MS64's to have been graded by PCGS with none higher.

PATTERNS:

1858 Pattern Cent J-193 NGC PR65 $4950

Flying Eagle Pattern Cent, copper nickel, plain edge, R5. Obverse of regular die with small letters; reverse featuring oak wreath and an ornamental shield. NGC population of 4 with 1 higher. PCGS has recognized 9 PR65's with none higher. Scarce and popular.

Obverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/patternj193%20obv.jpg

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/patternj193%20rev.jpg

Mint Errors:

1866 Three Cent Nickel Struck 20% Off center PCGS MS60 $1375

An impressive and catchy looking error, noticeably lighter and more lustrous in person. Seldom seen in this state of manufacture.

Reverse: http://markfeldcoins.com/client/minterror1866%20rev.jpg

Maybe Mark is going to give him a dog large enough to maim two coin collecting teens with one mighty swipe of it's finger 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I'd say it's a sign we better stop posting before we wind up in a ditch outside Arkansas state lines blush.gif

No. I just have lots of respect for Mark and for his product. I've gotten lots of good coins from him.

I'm planning on imaging my coins tomorrow. So, if all goes well, you should see some of the coins I've gotten from him.

Oh, Hayden, I'm planning on going to Florida after Texas so we may be neighbors. I'll take ya for a boat ride in the swamps. Okay, buddy? smirk.gif

Oh, Travis, I'm not all that far from you right now so..... hi.gif

Exactly 100 miles due south of Branson, MO.

I just saw that photo but I don't follow the news enough anymore to get it. It is Ginsberg, right?

There's no swamps in my area...

Hayden, just in your soggy diapers, youngster. angel.gif

I used to live closer to Victor than either of you, and like his beasts, his bark is much worse than his bite. And like a bear in the woods, if he ever charges you, just stand your ground and offer him pizza and beer! poke2.gif893blahblah.gifstooges.gif

Yes, e-mail.

Thanks. I think Mark hates me as he won't place me on his email list. confused-smiley-013.gif

Were there no 1/2c, 1c & 2c on his list?

Mark sends e-mails out of his new acquisitions, not of his entire inventory (I think). So his home page at www.markfeldcoins.com may have a more complete inventory list. I've never seen too many half cents but he normally has some nice IHC proofs and occasional 2c. I'll PM you his e-mail address.
