Nutty Nickels Update: Damage Control

The first one came from the mint.  The black mark is a depression under the lettering.

The second one I can't tell, it seems like a crack, but the folded metal on the collar seems wrong.  Any ideas?

Seems you have a collection of lamination errors. The second would be called a retained lamination.

Are you planning on submitting any of these? Just asking as some might not get much premium in the world of errors.

No, I almost expected PMD on a couple of these.  As you said, I also imagine these aren't too valuable.  For me, I figure to grade a coin, it would need to have a minimum value of $300 or be a really unique item that requires TPG validation for authenticity.  I will keep the more expressive specimens for my collection of "Mint Muck-Ups."  I seem to have a growing number of "quality control" failures!
