Hi fellow coin enthusiasts! I have a coin that I am struggling to find a price range on. This is mostly because of the type of coin and grading.

Could you help me out with an evaluation, based on rarity/condition?
Kind regards,

TheDutchie

It looks like similar pieces have sold in the €100+ range, but I'm not 100% sure I'm comparing apples to apples as there seem to be several varieties. The coin in the OP seems to be in exceptional condition, I don't think the cleaning detracts from it that much, if at all. Your best bet at determining value is to find coins of this type sold at auction, or take it to an expert or auction house that deals in these.

I am sorry but I see coins marked (Cleaned) way to much . Most of the time I think it is marked that way to be safe and not have to commit to a grade. This coin is old and I am sure it has been rubbed the wrong way a few times.

I know I have

Most coins (not all) will be priced 2-3 numerical grades lower when cleaned. For example If your coin graded AU Details Cleaned that means conservatively IMO it is an AU 55 coin which has been cleaned. The accepted market price would reflect a straight graded (not details ) AU 50-53 value.  Some rarer coins are not severely value hindered by cleaning due to their rarity and absolute collectability.
