After a disappointing Central States experience earlier this year, I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a better selection of inventory and the displays and competitive sets were very interesting. There was the 20 or so empty tables like Central States but I was there on Tuesday so some dealers may not have arrived yet. There may have also been a VKurtB sighting. I was able to purchase two coins for my collection, both nice for the grade. I was also looking for a 1914-D VF/XF or a 1931-S 63/64 Lincoln Cent. There was plenty of inventory to choose from but my previous purchases exhausted my budget. Already making plans to attend next year and I'll definitely plan on two days. Pics and permission to use for the Sample Slab book would be appreciated. Although ANA WFoM missed the 31 March 2023 cut off for the 3rd edition so it's not urgent. While you had a budget constraint this time, it's wonderful that you're already planning to attend next year's event and allocating more time to explore. Every hotel of ANY size has shuttles to Rosemont hotels, plus it's ONE stop on the Chicago Transit Authority blue line. Not exactly tough to get to. Chicago is centrally located within the US and also has one of the largest airports (O'hare Intl.) within 5-10 minutes from the convention. The Stephens Convention Center is also huge, affordable, has numerous high end restaurants very nearby as well as theatres, a large casino, public transportation, etc. There are also numerous hotels literally right across the street and the Hyatt Regency is actually connected to the convention center. The actual neighborhood in Rosemont where the show is held is NOT a bad area and the convention center has tons of parking, shuttle service, good security and IL is also a coin tax friendly state. And if you’re too close to fly, and you have to approach it from the south, it’s a bloody nightmare.
