Popular Post powermad5000 Posted July 11, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted July 11, 2023 (edited) It looks to me like environmental damage on the obverse from the improper handling, storage, or normal circulation of these copper plated zinc cents that had issues to begin with related to the copper plating having bubbling, cracking, and flaking. On the reverse it looks like a plating bubble next to the designers initials (FG). It could also be a die chip that fell off of a worn out die. Die chips are common, are not mint errors, and do not give the coin any premium to collectors.
