I don't want it to seem like I'm ranting as a dissatisfied customer, but I use a loop and a magnifying glass to look at my coins and my Last two submissions I feel like Are graded wrong I sent in three coins to be looked at for errors the submissions were just shipped back one submission today, the coins I removed from the mint packaging,I guess I should have left them in the packaging, but one of the coins was a 1962 penny and on the back half  the stairs are missing and there are many indentations, I'm up in my years and I don't believe that I am seeing wrong or losing my mind the other penny is a 1962d with a long indentations line through the stairs now if these are not errors in the Coins what are they the coins are graded in a mint state of 65 an I believe 64 both red can the submission pictures be checked they were both returned to me this December I'm feeling cheated because I was told in one communication that I could return one coin to be returned free of charge for it to be reviewed to see if it's a proof but that I would have to return it to be regraded for the error can the pictures be checked

Hello! We are so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the grading of your coins. At this time, we would not be able to determine information from photos alone and would need the coins in hand to identify the coins. Submitting a coin as a Mint Error coin indicates to our grading team that you would like the coin reviewed for all NGC-recognized errors. As long as the Mint Error option was selected, I can assure you the coins were reviewed as requested.

I can look into this further for you if you have the certification numbers of the coins as well. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Yes I have the certification numbers and they're 6491509-001 and 6490546-001 and 6490546-002 I will return the first coin as soon as I receive it I received an email stating I could return it for review the email stated there was a mechanical problem it will be reviewed to see if it's a proof.

@sanction, first I do not work for NGC but I have collected Lincoln cents for over 40 years and have an extensive collection of them.   I reviewed the photos, that are available on the cert verification page for two of your coins 6491509-001 and 6490546-001.   Neither of these coins have any mint errors on the area of the reverse steps.   Missing steps (unless a strike thru error) are just an indication of poor quality, something that was very prevalent for much of the regular mint production during the entire 1960's.   The lines you are referring to are just marks that the coins received from being banged around with other coins during the handling and packaging at the mint, coins that were placed and sold in mint sets were not handled in any special way like proof coins were.   Both of the coins I viewed photos of are just normal circulation coins not proof coins and I see no evidence in the photos that these two coins display any mint errors.

I am not trying to advise you on what to do and I wish you the best of luck, but from what I can see in the NGC photos both of these coins are graded correctly and any further monies you spend on shipping and grading of these coins will be wasted.   That of course is just my opinion, and you are free to do as you choose.

You know I looked at the pictures on the NGC site and I couldn't see the same errors I saw when I submitted the Coins but I use a loop and magnifying glass and I wouldn't have submitted them as errors if I didn't see errors I can't see with the same visibility as I can when I have them in my hands and I remember what I saw on the 62p half the stairs are not there I mean it looks like the machine missed and there's numerous indentations and on the 62d there's a very long strong indentation on the Left hand backside of the coin  I'm not an expert but we're all human and we make mistakes I will be receiving the Coins in a few days.

Coinbuf thanks for the advice I am a novice, you're right thats what I saw poor quality

Poor quality is NOT a mint error. Never has been, never will be.
