  1. I have a 1964 Kennedy half dollar with the face protruding and the back struck thru there is a copyright symbol in the back hole that has the name Huston over the copyright symbol I have two from two different people one says that they have no knowledge of the coin the other says that the coin came from the US Mint and doesn't know if it was ever in circulation and had the coin in storage for more than 50 years but it has a copyright symbol and the name in it is the coin errored by the mint or was it done by the copyrighted,
  2. Hey man I have been collecting coins for a very much shorter time than you and I only hold interest in Roman coinage all others I have bought only to make a profit of or to keep for the metal content value, from the information I have read when I coin is underweight or over weight it's been struck on the wrong planchette maybe a foreign coin planchette or an past planchette
  3. I see the word Roma on the back of the coin so it has to be a Roman coin my guess is it's a Roman republic coin or a coin just as the Roman empire.became the Roman Catholic Church or it could even be an early coin of the Roman Catholic Church it would be called a coin of the papal state I'm very interested i hold interest in Roman coinage because they are the past path of the Roman Catholic Church
  4. I have three authentic uncertified California gold tokens, I got all of them during the recession,I remember that I got one for $24.00 from eBay the seller was lone star coin in sinton Texas the phone number was 3614240034 and sales@lonestarcoin.com on the web ,I also have an 1852 modern made California gold token I contacted the seller he offered to give me my money back and gave me some advice and said legally tokens can be made at any time because their tokens so I kept the token as a lesson learned, to answer your question personally I feel the value is in the mind of the collector if a collector wants the coin you may get an outrageously high offer.you might want to try the lone star coin number their card looks like a store.
  5. Coinbuf thanks for the advice I am a novice, you're right thats what I saw poor quality
  6. You know I looked at the pictures on the NGC site and I couldn't see the same errors I saw when I submitted the Coins but I use a loop and magnifying glass and I wouldn't have submitted them as errors if I didn't see errors I can't see with the same visibility as I can when I have them in my hands and I remember what I saw on the 62p half the stairs are not there I mean it looks like the machine missed and there's numerous indentations and on the 62d there's a very long strong indentation on the Left hand backside of the coin I'm not an expert but we're all human and we make mistakes I will be receiving the Coins in a few days.
  7. Yes I have the certification numbers and they're 6491509-001 and 6490546-001 and 6490546-002 I will return the first coin as soon as I receive it I received an email stating I could return it for review the email stated there was a mechanical problem it will be reviewed to see if it's a proof.
  8. I don't want it to seem like I'm ranting as a dissatisfied customer, but I use a loop and a magnifying glass to look at my coins and my Last two submissions I feel like Are graded wrong I sent in three coins to be looked at for errors the submissions were just shipped back one submission today, the coins I removed from the mint packaging,I guess I should have left them in the packaging, but one of the coins was a 1962 penny and on the back half the stairs are missing and there are many indentations, I'm up in my years and I don't believe that I am seeing wrong or losing my mind the other penny is a 1962d with a long indentations line through the stairs now if these are not errors in the Coins what are they the coins are graded in a mint state of 65 an I believe 64 both red can the submission pictures be checked they were both returned to me this December I'm feeling cheated because I was told in one communication that I could return one coin to be returned free of charge for it to be reviewed to see if it's a proof but that I would have to return it to be regraded for the error can the pictures be checked
  9. It is said in numismatics never to clean a coin but if dirt has set into the coin for anywhere from fifty years or more would it not eventually cause the coin to deteriorate?(this is the back of a 1937D buffalo nickel it is green mold on it I took the picture after I had created the topic.
  10. I still don't understand, so if the coin is thicker and wider meaning also larger than a regular penny then would it be eligible to be a variety plus coin and if I resubmitted it would it be re-certified as an error and variety plus because it seems to be larger than a regular penny.
  11. I am a asking about a coin that I entered a question about that has not been approved to be answered two other questions I entered after the first one have been answered and here goes, the certification number on the coin is5976922-001 the coin is certified as obverse struck thru I found the coin in pocket change at Safeway I sent it in because it's bigger than an average penny I am not an expert but according to coin terminology I see no signs of the certification, would someone check the photos that NGC has I am planning to send it back for recertification it's an abnormal coin it has no marks showing it to be as it's certified as I stated I did send this question with a picture of the coin as my first question, the coin is thicker and wider than a regular coin.
  12. I found a blank in a roll of pennies if I send it in and give the date and mint of the roll that I found it in is it possible for an expert to identify?
  13. And I have another reply to administrator Pauls.and I quote from the website of the spruce crafts "if there is a strip of copper encircling the edge of the coin it is a regular strike coin",and this coin has no copper strip.
  14. I am again replying to your answer administrator Pauls. to my recollection just in using Kennedy halves as common money to trade when they first started circulating the 1967 halves do in fact have a copper strip on the reeded edge and it is uncommon to find one without the copper strip are you sure that you understood my question ❓
