Key dates 2 2

I finally got a couple of the key dates I needed for my Washington set. They are low grade but Im still happy to get them. Maybe one of these days I can upgrade them but it will probably be a while.  Lucked out and won the bid on both of them at the same time. The dreaded 1950 D/S and 1950 S/D. These are hard to find at an affordable price even in a lower grade. This is actually the first purchase Ive got to make in a few months.

Thank you my friends. Even though these are low grade Im very excited to add them to my set. This is a hard set to put together when you have a tight budget to work with. Didnt know what I was getting into.

How do you decide which variety coins to include, and which to not include?

IMHO... Hog is the real deal we seldom hear from.  I don't know that he is concerned with superfluous "varieties" or "errors" besides those he may inadvertently come across. This is a nuts-and-bolts collector who has a laid-back style, enjoys what he's doing and marches to the beat of a different drum.  Plenty of room to upgrade or specialize. Perfect.

But obviously he included at least these two mint mark varieties. My standard is if it has a hole in the Dansco album, I include it. These two don’t. But 1918/17 Buffs do.

I’m no maven on RPM’s, but I’d think there are others in the Washington Quarter series, or no?

Im using the NGC registry for a guide to go by. If these wasnt listed in it Id never bought them. In order to complete a set you have to have these two.

Hog I thought about you and your set when I won these. The 64-D is semi prooflike and is rare in full prooflike. While not key dates 

the eye appeal is what I thought to be special.
