It has not been forgotten. But we’ve had HUGE restructuring at the ANA due to COVID. Whomever’s pet project this was may not even still be there. The staff is a shadow of its former self.

Why the restructuring? Budget?
the elections went pretty much as predicted.

There is no truth to the rumor that ANA staff (what's left of them) have been out shoveling neighborhood driveways to earn cash to pay ANA's bills.

;)

PS: Colorado Springs is a great town - but a terrible location for a small national organization HQ. Isolated, and the only "draw" is the small museum that even the Colorado crickets seem to skip.

COVID really did a number on the revenue side of the ANA’s books. The entire agenda of the PREVIOUS Board was wicked budget cuts.

Crickets, no. Plagues of locusts? Yes. When one looks at the operations of the ANA at their own conventions, volunteers are being leaned on ever more heavily, both site local and “go everywhere” National Volunteers, such as myself, and role of paid staff constantly shrinks.

I’d bet at least SOME do and are. Along with staff being well down, average pay there is ALSO well down, mostly by eliminating high earners and replacing them with lower earners.

The difference in the presidency is subtle but important, not on a personal level (both are and were fine gentlemen) but in terms of who has whose ear. I like Don Kagin just fine. He and his wife are friends of mine. But if he had become Prez, dealers would have pressed him hard. Having Dr. Ross, a professional educator, with grandchildren who are YN’s and exhibitors, lessens the impact of dealer advocacy somewhat. We are now on the collector side of the swing of the pendulum.

As for the Board at large, since Barry Stuppler was ruled ineligible, and Muriel Eymery’s recent death, the Board that now is, is the only one we could have.
