Images of 1870s or pre-1888 $10 US gold coin

My ancestor was a merchant seaman. He hollowed out the heel of his shoe and kept a $10 US gold coin in it so if he fell on hard times he always had a nest egg to fall back on. I am writing our family story and would like to include an image of what the front and back of the coin would have looked like. The time frame of the coin would have been 1870s or 1880s (pre-1888).

Does anyone have any copyright free images they would be willing to allow me to use in a publication? I would be happy to include a credit in the caption.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I don’t have anything that would be helpful imaged at the moment.

@Buffalo Head is an amazing coin photographer, and I saw he recently imaged some gold in his collection. He may be able to help you. I love his coin photography.
