I found this 1951 nickle and am interested in whats going on with it. If it's a mint error, because it has the same finish and a there's some kind of circular mark in the middle. Thank you in advanceIMG_20211024_153504397.thumb.jpg.e79165b3dd56275d6bf69279df91b209.jpgIMG_20211024_153531075.thumb.jpg.dc9c58eae5c1dfb00e7a19b52b6582fd.jpgIMG_20211024_153627430.thumb.jpg.8bd5145efcd7c0e112cd4d7f58cb958b.jpgIMG_20211024_153736570.thumb.jpg.ee2a27564a80d88671642784bcce124a.jpgIMG_20211024_154814437.thumb.jpg.3a901f5312d83cc0e44c56782bc13dbf.jpgIMG_20211024_153639902.thumb.jpg.aba0fdf778547cc9527d164dfac9e75c.jpg

Just what is a serious error anyway?   :baiting:  I do not recall that numismatic term in any of the books that I have read.    But to your question its just damaged, likely spent significant time in the local Walmart parking lot.

That is why we don't polish coins, some people get carried away and overdo it.

Just kidding, Welcome to the forum JRD . It is just a damaged coin sorry

I agree with the others....that is simply a heavily damaged nickel that has had a rough life.

Not a serious error. Not a silly error. Not an error. Damage. Intentional. Like with a grinding wheel.
