Hey Bill. Here’s the issue that everyone is going crazy hoping the 2021 Morgan’s won’t look like !

long chats about this on the other forum.  I guess in hand the reverse really disappoints.  I like the obverse but understand the complaints about the reverse. From some of the early acquired photos  the new ones are very nice. Released folks all around. I’m rambling 😉

I love the St Gaudens design and saw this silver round at a great price (23.87) plus tax and shipping. I don’t have this so now I do. I know it’s not legal tender but is is made in a US mint and it is 1oz. .999 silver besides it is a beautiful coin.

According to their website they sell these for $3.03 over spot so the price changes all the time, as I type this it shows this will cost over $26 as silver spot is down today to $22 and some change.   Not cheap but a decent value given the markups on Morgan dollars today for less silver content.    I don't follow spot prices that closely but I cannot recall spot at $20 recently, the $23.87 price you noted seems to be the price they would pay to buy one not their sell price.

Not bad for $23.87.  Pinehurst Coins wants $2800 - $29.00 for theirs.  $22.87 right now on NY.

James I are hope not! I bought one of the CC privy coins. To me it would be a big let down to see the mint building on this historic coin.

James, according to numismatic news, your hopes aren’t dashed. Thankfully it is as we anticipated.

One, it is not a coin, two, while it may be made in a mint in the US it's a private mint not a US Mint.

That Saint-Gaudens silver round is not well-struck and really not a good likeness of the original Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle.

They're pricier and have a big premium, but look into the National Park Foundation Saint-Gaudens Commemoratives.  Some of the "unused" Saint-Gaudens designs that didn't make it into regular production in 1907 were utilized.

Premiums are high on the PF-70's but you can always buy a 69 or Gem Proof a bit cheaper.  Not a substitute for buying silver the metal but if you want a real nice tribute to Saint-Gaudens, buy 1 or 2.

Well I think the silver saint is just fine. Kinda strange you compare a $40 silver 1 oz to a half oz.gold at $2000 for a 69 (eBay for sale).   Bill enjoys what he collects. Want to help. Show him a silver in his price range. ( you realize for $2000 you can get a genuine 1oz. ).
