It is the Light Motto variety, which is slightly scarce, though I don't believe any premium would attach to such a worn example. It's obvious why the master hub was revised that same year to strengthen the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, since it's become nearly invisible with normal circulation wear.

Should he pop it out and do the ring test to test for silver?  It looks ok. If unfamiliar      Tap it gently on the counter or something similar to listen for the ring of silver.  To compare tap a newer quarter.  Listen. Tap yours it should ring. 🤓🙀
