I might be silly on this one too. Could this be PMD or die chips. Hmmm  interesting. I think the 2 might have been squished.

See the way the digit is flattened? There's a good cue that it's taken a hit that mooshed it flat and caused what you are seeing. See the 5's flattening, more so toward the 2? That seems to have been in the blast radius. You could probably learn more if you zoomed way in with a coin microscope, but all you'd learn is more evidence of PMD.
