There is some controversy as to whether they exist at all, or are merely the “fever dream” of a couple of TPGS firms.

Very early strikes off fresh dies. Just part of the normal progression of coins as dies wear.

I remember as a kid I got a 1964 mint set in a holder like this only to find out later it was a made up set not really from the mint. It looked real. It had 1964 coins in it
