There is normally a 72-hour wait time when someone claims a coin to be his. Automated emails are sent to the previous owner and to the person claiming to be the new owner. After the 72-hour time period, if the previous owner does not contest ownership of the coin, the coin is automatically transferred to the new owner. If the previous owner does contest the transfer of the coin, then we proceed from there. **When a person buys a coin from Ebay, Amazon, or another website, sometimes there is a photo displayed of a coin similar to the one they are buying. The buyer may assume the certification number shown on the website is the same as the coin he is purchasing but has not yet received. We ask that you wait until you have the coin in hand before entering it into the NGC Registry. Thank you.
