WoodenJefferson Posted March 31, 2018 Share Posted March 31, 2018 After 50 years of 'wheat back' cents circulated in the billions, the change to the Memorial reverse in 1959 was a big deal and many companies used the new cent in advertising, like "You now have a GOLDEN opportunity to save for the future" or similar sayings that involved giving you "a penny earned is a penny saved" type slogan.
