I'm pretty sure I sold a coin on ebay.......

This is a new one on me. I get a notice from Paypal this afternoon.....The typical "Instant payment received from..." I open it and click on the ebay listing enclosed 'item description link'. It takes me to the coin listing which says, at the top of the page, "Your item is listed for sale". What ? I'm thinking.....It should say, "Paid with Paypal, January 18....blah, blah...."

I check to see if I maybe had two of these listed, no.....So I 'end' the item before it sells again. I log into Paypal, there's the money. This still has not shown up on my 'SOLD' page.....Nor have I gotten the 'Your ebay item sold' e-mail from ebay.

I've never run into this one before. Anyone ?

I've gotten those emails several days after item sells... it feels like it's out of no where and you can't find what sold but then you realize it was 4 days or a week old. That's been my experience several times.

Yea, I've gotten some late ones before. Sales have always appeared on my sold page right away. The oddest thing here is that this item has never appeared on my 'items sold' page. It literally could have been sold twice, as it remained for sale after it was purchased.

Hi Paul,

I sell a lot of coins on Ebay and I actually had one of those happen to me last night. What happened in my case is that the buyer was trying to use the Ebay Shopping Cart that they recently implemented on the site. Be careful though......my buyer actually purchased four coins when he meant to only buy one because of problems with the shopping cart! We got it straightened out though. So that is something that it could be as well.

Hope this helps!

Here was a weird thing happened to me: a customer buys an early Seated half and I open an unpaid item case after about 5 days. No response. Private account, so I am in the dark about who this "buyer" is. Finally I requested his phone number from ebay, which a specialist had to help me with because the request did not satisfy their criteria for some reason. Then suddenly the "buyer" becomes unglued with broken english and I said I had sent invoice reminders almost daily, and he jumped all over me that I should have sent him an email. Huh? I thought invoices went to his email account. And I got this statement: "There are 11 employees with different emails." And he said he is not a dealer, ie a coin expert apparently. Still no payment, though the guy says they pay for their purchases....

Trust me, the sale may not show up as a sold item but eBay won't forget to bill you. My bet is they already have, check your account balance.

I thought that you were probably right Tom. I just looked at my current invoice and the sale isn't there.
