This jewel of a coin came home to roost earlier this month.

Like most of my pricey coins of late, I paid this one off on terms and it arrived a couple of weeks ago. This particular coin is so rare that NGC had to make a spot for it and determine the scores for it in the four different sets I have it registered in. That took a solid week before I could even enter it.

First and foremost, this coin now sits proudly in my 1947 tribute mint set to my mother. It also resides in my quarter set, my quarter type set, and my 20th Century set.

To the best of my knowledge this is a Top Pop of 1 coin. It was located on eBay back in late summer. Welcome to my sets this 1947 S/S MS67* Washington Quarter.

It, along with the acquisition of a 1947 P MS67*FT Roosevelt Dime from Jason Colinger, have for the time being pushed me into a comfortable lead at the number 1 spot in the 1947 Mint Sets.

Hopefully I'm not done upgrading so check back often to see what is happening with that set. Attached is a picture of this beautiful coin.

Thanks for reading and have a great evening.

It's been a while since I have looked at your mom's tribute set. But after perusing it again, I had to lift my jaw from the computer keyboard as I marveled at the beauty and quality of the coins in your set. Well done my friend! I love what you have done in your set to include pictures of your mom. I am also glad to see that you are soundly destroying the competition ( lol you know of which I am referring)! But all kidding aside, there is not a better 1947 type set on the face of the earth. Congratulations.

Congratulations on a superb addition to your mom's set. It looks like you might have upgraded my 1947 set, too. My 1947-S is a NGC MS-67 (no star), and is also a S/S FS-501, but there was no slot for the variety when I entered it in my set. I will get NGC to re-slot my coin - thanks for the 265 points, and hope to see you add a 1947-S Jefferson soon.

Your coin is just as beautiful as mine. I can't imagine what it didn't get a star as well.

Maybe you should consider sending it back to NGC for a designation review?
