1881 S Toned (Grade and Hopes Posted)

This one is in an older NGC holder. What would she receive by today's standards?

I see an MS-63 under the toning. There are a fair number of marks on the cheek and in the fields.

I agree with 63 but rather gorgeous.

My guess would be MS64 star, unless the facial marks look highly conspicuous, even without magnification.

I think the big image makes it look a little choppier than it is.

 

If it doesn't star - I'll eat it! It has the full halo luster of many S minted Morgans from the time period.

I would say 63 with a chance at 64. It would PROBABLY star.

I'll call it a 64 and say it looks too dark for a star to me.

It's currently in an older NGC holder with a grade of 63. It does have some choppiness with one larger hit in front of the ear.

 

It's a strong 63. I think a + or a 64 is not out of the question. The color is on the darker side of the spectrum but does look very nice.

 

I'll repost the coin when I comes back from NGC, I'm hoping for a grade of 64*
