  1. Yeah, it doesn't make much sense since the mintage is the same for all varieties.
  2. Well, I wanted to get the entire set but could only manage to "win" 3 each of the P, D, and S. I think I will pick one nice one of each to keep, one for my father for Christmas, and sell the rest to maybe break even. I contemplated just selling them all and buying genuine morgans with the profit...might still go that route, who knows. Good to see some of the old timers still in the fight.
  3. I see there are several in the same predicament but I will throw this out there in case someone is in the opposite predicament and willing to trade. I have the P D S 2021 Morgans and looking for the CC, O and peace dollars.
  4. I ordered 3 of the 2021 ASE Type 2 proofs from the mint the other day and the package arrived today. The box was taped shut with scotch tape, not factory sealed and in it was 1 coin and no paperwork. I am still waiting for customer service to call me back but has anyone had to deal with anything like this from the mint? The worst part is I work for the USPS (currently) and this doesn't surprise me at all. I also know USPS won't do anything about it because the mint doesn't purchase insurance. I don't think it was theft or they would have taken all 3 coins. My sense it was poorly sealed and came open somewhere and a mail sorter taped it shut as best they could and sent it on. I see empty packages daily in mail sort, it's very common. EDIT: Well I spoke to the US Mint customer service. If I understood the girl correctly they are going to refund me for the 2 missing coins or at least that is what she implied. I also called the local post office and spoke to the supervisor about it. The chance those 2 coins are turned in by an honest employee is pretty slim. It likely happened in one of the plants and ended up in someone's pockets. Pretty happy with the mint response to this. The only thing they could have done was package it better but stuff happens in the mail.
  5. There's no other site that has the exposure as eBay unfortunately. It's also the only one that has the feedback rating that I am aware of allowing buyers and sellers to know a persons past transaction success. A few points on the new managed payments program. 1) PayPal will still be allowed for buyers; however, the payment goes to eBay not the seller. eBay sits on the money for several days, then they take out their fees and send the remaining money to the buyers account which takes another several days. 2) When you make a sale and it's time to ship, you will not have yet received any money from the sale. 3) Although you can't use your PayPal account to receive the funds from sales, you have to use PayPal to pay for the shipping labels through eBays system. I do not know if they will change it so that the shipping costs will eventually come out of the money from the sale (like Etsy does), or it this is going to remain screwed up. So they way a transaction works now. You make a sale and eBay gets paid (not you). You have to create a shipping label but no money has been sent to your PayPal so you have to add funds or use a credit card to pay for the shipping. Then you ship the item still not having actually been paid. Eventually eBay will release your money to your bank account. For this you save 2% in fees.
  6. I will have to check that out. I've never been on Reddit so there will be a learning curve.
  7. Well, reactivated my wife's old eBay account and made a test listing that worked. So now I have a new account with zero feedback but at least if I need to sell some stuff off I can still list them. Maybe I can hold on to this account until they sort out the managed payment business. It's a terrible system so hopefully they will figure out they need to make improvements. When selling previously payment went directly into your PayPal account and you could use it. Now it takes about a week to get your money even though you have to pay their fees, shipping, insurance, etc...prior to getting paid. Etsy has their own payment processing but when you pay for shipping it comes out of your payment account so you don't have to pay out of pocket and wait.
  8. I sold about $2k last month and now I can't list anything. Just wondering what other options may be emerging as this takes place. It is a real kick in the teeth.
  9. Nope. Will be mandatory for all sellers in 2021.
  10. I was just moved to eBays managed payments. I can no longer sell anything in the coins and paper money section so wondering what others may have figured out. Sorry if this has already been covered but I searched and couldn't find the answer..
  11. So I ended up buying one of these and now don't want to keep it. Mint cost was $1,335. They selling at a premium on eBay but if you are wanting one at a lower cost shoot me message. Thanks. 20XG mint item number.
