Just picked this up 2 days ago.. tell me how I did considering I paid $12 for it. I know the colors are all wonky but there is a fair bit of luster left. Thanks for looking.

I'd venture the grade could be as high as AU-50. With flat lighting its hard to distinguish wear from striking characteristics as well as difficult to see luster. It may be cleaned, but again that could be from flat lighting. In any case, its a score for $12!

Yeah, you got it for at or below cull value and it is a nice AU coin.

I'd say AU 50 but only b/c of that reverse (the obv. looks AU 55).

It DOES appear to have surface issues, though.

Here are a couple more shots, my lighting originally was terrible and didn't do justice to the coin. Thanks for looking, also, to those that are knowledgeable about this series.. what should I be looking for when purchasing these coins?

Much much better photographs. The coin is an attractive AU example, worth a little over melt (which means you paid a very fair price for it).

If you are looking for Uncirculated examples (and for these later dates, UNC examples are very inexpensive), look for wear on the eagle's breast, Liberty's breasts, her hand, and thigh.
