Terrible fake, but it has way too much detail to be a sand cast copy. Here's what a sand cast coin looks like:

 

 

 

 

Note that this particular sand cast coins is a genuine issue from Sinaloa. This is the only way they come.

How about this little gem? It is a counterfeit that was made back in the day. It was undoubtedly silver plated in the beginning.

This one's pretty good too and as an added bonus it's magnetic!
