40% Silver Kennedy Halves

OK, I am stumpted by last weeks trivia question. I have had no luck in searching for more information about the 1966 Kennedy being minted at the Denver mint and I only have a few reference books here at the house (none on half dollars). Could someone post more information on the topic? I looked ATS at their coinfacts and it implied Philly because there is no mint mark but that is all I can find on the topic.

Read about the "Coinage Act of 1965" when the mint marks were left off the branch mint coins on purpose, so hoarding of coins would be averted.

The Mint Director's Report for 1968 includes a detailed summary of the 1964-67 coinage and where each issue was coined. This was the ultimate source of my information.
