Very tough coins to find with nice CAM/DCAM surfaces. Share what you have. :)

What's your thoughts on the grade of this one?

I'd grade it Proof-64, Cam. The eagle on the reverse does not seem to have major contrast if the photo is accurate. That holds it back from moving up to DCam or Ultra Cam. The spots on the obverse are a distraction. Perhaps a judicious dip could improve things, but I’d leave to someone who knows what they are doing to try it.

Here is the Proof quarter from my type set. It is an NGC PR-67 Ultra Cam.

I would say say about 65Cam and that's only because of the spotting. Of course I just posted this recently but it falls within the thread.

I agree with PF64 because of the spotting; however, I'm not sure that the cameo is "all there". Look at the breaks on in the frost on the eagle's wings (and yes, I am aware that coins from that date are notorious for having weak cameo contrasts). I wouldn't be surprised to see this is a PF64 holder; if it weren't for the spotting, I would say PF64 *. It might end up in a cameo holder, but I wouldn't count on it.

your 1957 is pretty

what is going on on the reverse right wing below the letters RIC?

is that blue or green? if so I wonder about PVC or altered surface

No problems there. Just my poor imaging.

Am I correct to infer you think, "no shot?" ;)

I think the contrast on the reverse of my coin is too light to warrant DCAM; maybe CAM or maybe a *. That's the only reason I haven't tried to cross it. :D

P.S. I still like your quarter.

I bought these three raw as part of a 1954 proof set in a capital plastic holder and sent them in to PCGS. IMO none of them should DCAM, but they should all be Cameos. Given that I've been collecting cameos from this era for about 25 years, I was QUITE surprised when only the Washington came back as cameo. :censored:
