NEWP 1795 FH Half Dollar-Crusty History

17 posts in this topic

This one is an O-116 R4. If it wasn't so crusty, I would describe some of the neat clashes, but I can hardly see any of them in hand, never mind the pics. The only easily distinguishable mark is the lumpy die break under star 1 (starting @ star 2). This one has the appearance of an antique shop find, you know, the old cigar box in a dark dusty corner with a bunch of stuff in it along with someone's old half dollar...

That's a bit darker than I normally would like. However, it is still quite attractive.

The FH half dollar is one of my dream coins. I want an example in VF-EF.

Love that look! Thank goodness nobody got near it with Comet and a rag....

It was guarded by someone with a Musket!

That is a nice coin. It is rewarding to get your hands on decent examples of these.

Well, MBA, I'd rather have a nice crusty example than one that was dipped out or improperly cleaned. Very nice pickup of one of my alltime favorite coins. Congrats.

And that's a nice FH you picked up as well Crypto79 and WELCOME!!!!
