Hmmmmm! Let's see, I'll guess they may all be considered poker chips and they are 296 in all. I'll pm you my address to send the prize. Gee, Chris, you have the neatest contests.

Cool collection Chris. I started collecting them once but caught myself wanting to bring them all home with me. There are so many cool designs. Is that a Binnion dollar at the bottom left?

I don't have any Binion $1 gaming tokens. I have only one Binion $5 obsolete house chip and it is in the top photo, 2nd row from the top, 3rd from the left. I did have two of them, but someone offered me $50 for one, so I took it.

I also have 56 - $10 Silver Strikes (each one contains .6 oz .999 fine silver), but when I tried to send them to you, the Post Office wouldn't insure them for $1,000,000. Oh, well!

Pretty neat. Are any of those considered rare?

There are some from casinos that no longer exist, but none that I would consider rare. There are a few with interesting stories.

For example, in the first photo, there is a 7-chip set from the Lone Star Casino (2nd row from bottom starting above the left-hand 9-ball chip) and these are $1, $5, $5 Grand Opening, $25, $25 Grand Opening, $100 & $500. The Lone Star Casino was a joint venture involving the US government which opened on a small island on the Pacific rim. After 6 months or so, it closed its doors. Like all stateside casinos, by law the chips were supposed to be destroyed. However, the maker of the chips, Chipco (Maine), was never paid for them. So, they got an injunction to prevent their destruction and sued in Federal court to get them back. I bought this set from Chipco about 15 years ago for $50. The neat part was that this little island in the Pacific was where in August, 1945 the Enola Gay launched headed for Japan.
