As many of you know, 4th of July is my absolute favorite holiday of the year. I love the parades, I love the fireworks, I love everything the holiday is about. I love my country. So join me in celebrating America, lighting off fireworks, and eating my famous carrot cake!

I should have posted these two items yesterday! Here are the two items I have in my collection that were really printed or minted in 1776.

 

The first is a 1776 guinea (21 shillings) with good old George III himself on the obverse.

 

 

The second is a two thirds of the dollar Continental Currency note from 1776.
