My christmas present to myself

16 posts in this topic

Here is what I bought myself for christmas.

A 1932 Gold Eagle, It has a very nice original non dipped look to it. In hand the luster breaks on the high points are not very noticeable. It has a light hit on the cheek but no other contact marks to be seen. the fields are pretty mark free. It has a light copper spot under stars 5 and 6.

Let me know what you guys think! Going by the pictures what would it grade?

Are those your pictures? You are coming along well, a bit more practice (and your lights in a little different position) and you'll have them nailed.

Also a very nice coin. I don't know anything about gold, but it looks like a 64 to me.

Jason, yes these are my pictures. This was just one of those coins that was easy to take a picture of though. One shot per side (I love coins like that!)

123cents, I agree. It is probably my favorite gold design.

That is a pretty $10 Indian Ray. I agree that it is one of the great designs. I could see a grade of 64.

Nice Christmas present Ray. It looks all there to me. Nice photo too. 63-64? (thumbs u

I like to think I have been a good boy this year lol but getting this coin was a mix of the right place, time, and price.

This coin marks some milestones for me.

It is my first piece of problem free classic gold.

This is the first coin I have ever bought that I actually had to save up to buy. I assure you not being able to buy any other coins for the last month and a half has been killing me. :D

This is also the first time I have bought a type coin that I have searched for a specific look rather than just buying the first eye appealing coin I come across. I have been searching for a $10 Indian with this specific look for well over a year now.

Key word being "would" :)

The 2x2 was marked ChBu though. :D

This coin will be going in my next submission when I get around to sending it in. I will keep this thread updated when I get it graded.
