Show me your best from 1939!

16 posts in this topic

My mother, who was diagnosed with Lupus 15 years ago and was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease, is in the critical care unit following emergency surgery in hopes to "repair" complications related to her condition. Things do not look good (the head says), but every day she survives there is hope (the heart says).

It has not been easy this past week. My stomach has been taking the brunt of the argument between my head and my heart. Zantac is my new best friend. Since my mother was born in 1939, how about showing me your best from that year in tribute.

Scott,

I am really sorry to hear about your mother.

Your mom sounds like a lucky and blessed lady.

Sorry I don't have any 1939 coin to post!!

I had this raw ‘39 Walker in a album, so I took it out and gave it a quick scan in hopes

that your Mother pulls through. My Mom lived to 83 and was sharp as a tack until a stroke got her.

So sorry to hear about your mom, but fortunately my mom was also born in 1939, so I have a few coins lying around as I haphazardly try to put together BU sets for both my parents. My prayers are with your mom and family.

Shocked to learn I have no coins from 1939. A 1938-D Buffalo nickel in NGC MS-67 is the closest I have.

My mom was born in 1925 and every time I call her and she sounds good is a relief. My thoughts and prayers are with your mom.
