I will need some help on what mode and settings to use on our camera Schatz

 

I keep playing with the settings but this works okay for me.

Set the camera to Auto, Macro on, Super Fine, ISO Hi, Image Size M1

 

I am still playing with the camera in manual mode. Just start taking pictures and

keep changing the settings till you start getting what you like.

Looking forward to starting. I think I'm going to get one fluoro lamp and already have one LED lamp coming and the mini tripod. I have a room I can have dark.. with a white corner set up ready..

Bruce just keep trying and maybe upgrade from that 1970's polaroid camera and flashlight setup and you should be able to get some good shots

Those are actually really nice pics from Heritage. I'm used to pretty much garbage or scan like pictures coming from them.

7 of 8 from my former set are in the auction and Heritage did a very nice job imaging all the Mattes. The images in the catalog are even nicer. I wish they'd have done as good a job on my proof Frankies.

How about my "first coin picture" taken today with my new powershot sx10 with super macro

I have alot to learn but now I have a decent camera for the job

This coin I have had in a card holder for at least two decades and I don't remember where I picked it up. It was simply the easiest coin to access

Anyway here it is

My first try using diffused lighting. I used the paper towel method.

 

I was rather pleased with how it came out.
