It's actually a pretty famous coin, and probably one of the few ultra-high grade early Lincolns worthy of the grade!

Yeah, it is a nice coin, but what does it sell for? My guess is that someone could buy one several points lower for a fraction, as is usually the case for any conditional rarity.

Have you ever seen a beard that looked like that on a business strike cent ?

If I remember, that thing sold for the North side of 5 figures. I hope it's stored in nitrogen.

I wouldn't be comfortable owning it.

Yes, I have, and in fact, that quality of strike is uncommon, but not rare. What IS rare is a combination of that quality of strike PLUS the level of preservation (MS-69) PLUS color! It's basically a "perfect storm", which is why that is such a fabulous coin.
