I just received this 1992 Columbus 50c modern commemorative. I won it on Ebay and it went for only $6.65! :applause: It's good to know there are deals to be had out there.

Post some good deals that you guys and gals came across.

Good luck to everyone acquiring the coins they want.

Jeffrey

This ended last night. I won for $4.83 + Shipping, and because I won something else from the seller and he combines shipping, the added shipping charge was only $1.

Here are four really great deals I received in the last year. All were off Ebay, all were raw, and all were sent to NGC for grading. The IHC cost me $35.80, the Proof Liberty Seated Dime cost $61. 77, the Liberty Seated Half dime cost $34.16 and the Shield Nickel cost me $22.50(all prices includes freight). Of course, I had the expense of NGC for two of them(as the other two were used with free coupons along with other submissions). All coins have been traded with dealers for more expensive coins except the Half dime which will go into my 7070 to upgrade a coin. Not to mention that many were purchased raw that were losses. But deals can be made(I've just not made many lately) lol

I most certainly did, of course it did not look like it looks in the slab. The seller even said it has proof like fields under the dark toning. To me the toning looked more like dirt and grime so I sent it to NCS and it became blast white, but no doubt about its being a proof. Notice that none of these were graded MS65's but all were lower level MS/PF's which was reason they went cheaply.

I got these together in a single order from TomB. I won't divulge the financial details of the transaction but I will say that I was ecstatic to recieve these quality, original coins for the money I spent. It's hard to find these early pieces still unmolested. Thanks again Tom!

I paid $2,768.15 for this half eagle, raw at the time. Subsequently graded AU-58 by NGC. It has the "old gold" look and semi-prooflike surfaces.

doh!

That was one heck of a deal!! Must of been a few years ago that you bought it?

Here was a registry good deal:

I purchased a PCGS 2005 P SMS 69 Kennedy and a 2007 D PCGS FT SMS dime, both for $100.

Yet, they are worth nearly 4000 registry points. That $100 put me to #20 in the NGC type registry. (thumbs u

The Kennedy on my sig line cost me 68c plus the grading fees. The only other known specimen of the 2001-D missing the reverse clad layer sold raw in 2005 for $555.

Similar to Winston, I look at this question not as one of how little did I spend as a fraction of apparent worth; rather, I look at this question as one of how well I spent the money. Given that interpretation, the first coin cost twice Greysheet bid while the second cost 50% in excess of Greysheet bid and I am thoroughly happy with both good buys-
