Collector: This is a silver coin honoring Louis Braille. On the back, or reverse as we call it, is the abbreviated form of the word BRAILLE actually in braille.

V.I.P.: Oh, really? May I feel it?

Collector: No, it's a commemorative coin and should not be touched.

None of the blind people at the ceremony complained.

"This is going to put Braille in front of people in a very dramatic way," said Chris Danielson, a federation spokesman.

Did they understand the 400,000 to be minted would go to collectors and not be used in every day commerce? Either encased in plastic from the mint or encased in plastic from TPG's? Who thinks this mess up?

"the Braille silver dollar is the first to have Braille characters that can be read".

So I'm presuming that Helen Kellers name in Braille on the Alabama Qtr is too small for a bling person to read?
