Coindude- Yes, I have to agree - it is very interesting. I'd love to examine it

for a few minutes in hand - but won't pay $8600++ to own it. doh!

I picked up a few odds and ends at Long Beach - just a few Barbers:

About six weeks ago, I added another set of Halves. This collection was

from a vest pocket dealer from Baton Rouge and called the Red Stick Collection. I have changed its name to the Elbesaar Collection and have merged these coins with another set I was working on.

Here is the first coin from that newer set:

Sorry for the small images - I've been having issues with Photobucket.

lol

I downloaded that image from another forum member - and sent it

to a friend who's a Yankee fan [ he's from NJ & I'm originally from Boston ].

We're meeting at the ANA in Boston this Summer and he said he was going to

wear Yankee T Shirts the whole time he was in Boston...I told him that'd be a big

mistake. Then I told him he'd be viewed like that little guy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just discovered that Photobucket is the one with the issues ... seems as though

alot of people are having problems downloading images.

Later - and you don't need to try and resize anything - I'll handle it later - but -

thanks for trying.

I bought this Nickel back in 1994 at a local B&M in Naples, Florida.

This was in a PCI Green Holder - Graded AU 53 - when I bought it.

A couple of years ago, I crossed it to PCGS...

Okay - I just edited the post above this one - to add some of the

newer images for the 1898 Mint set - other images are forthcoming

and I'll just edit that Post with the other 1898 images as I receive them.

I did not [ sorry to say ] send the photographer, BluCCphotos, all of

my Halves; I sent him coins that I had no images of what so ever - or

the images I did have were of a poor quality.

Here is the start of the Barber Halves, recently imaged.

[ The 1892-Micro O in PCGS 63: image was acceptable and I

decided not to chance sending it thru the mail. I'll hand

deliver it to the photographer - either at Summer FUN or

the ANA in Boston. ]

The 1892-P - Normal Reverse

1892-PHalfPCGS58dual.jpg

The 1892-P TDR - Not Designated on the holder. This was a cross over

from an ANACS 58 with the Designation of the TDR on its holder.

The 1892-O - Normal Mint Mark

1892-OHalfPCGS58dual.jpg

The 1892-S - Normal Mint Mark

1892-SHalfPCGS58dual.jpg

There are no new images of 1893 Halves, sorry.

I sure do like the toning on the reverses of the 92 & 92-O.

Chris (thumbs u

Thanks, Chris. They have great toning - but the 92-O Normal O - has

the better toning but a lousy strike...I bought it for the toning - and its

a typical New Orleans strike.

Here are the new images of the 1894-P & 1894-S

as I never did have these images - [ the 1894-O has

great images and saw no reason to have it reimaged.]

Mike, out of curiosity, do you have an antique barber pole anywhere in your home? If not, you should!

Chris

Nah, just a lamp pole outside...and its NOT red and white striped...

except at Christmas !!! lol.

Downloaded a bunch of new images...

1895 - P & 1895-O [ the S is still due...]

I bought this coin raw - and it was one of the first Barber Halves

that I had purchased. I was told this was an AU 58 - and paid

very dearly for it - I thought it was an AU 55 - PCGS hammered me

with this grade... [ Regardless...its a nice coin. ]
