FSH: 57 coin mixed lot- Lrg 1c, 1/2 dime, barbers, etc. - Reduced, pics 11/30

20 posts in this topic

Up for sale is a nice mixed lot - it would make a great starter collection for the YN in your life. The holidays are upon us (stocking stuffer?) This group has a number of 19th century US coins that are low-enough grade that you don't have to worry about the child messing them up, but at the same time, they're old enough to really make that child feel like they've got something precious in their hands. There are a few coins with issues (a few cleaned, and a few with scratches/dings), but that really just makes them affordable for a child's collection. There's a fair bit of silver in here (almost 2.5 oz), and a handful of Ikes to give the box a little heft! I loved those big cartwheels when I was younger.

57 coins in all - almost $30 in face alone - (everything's in cardboard 2x2s).

I'm asking for $110 shipped with delivery confirmation. Price is quite flexible. If you're interested, please MAKE AN OFFER.

Paypal is acceptable.

This really isn't your average child's set. There are some pretty cool coins in the mix:

Added lots of photos (sorry dial-uppers!) Actually, taking the photos made me kind of wish I wasn't selling these coins. I've had them since I was rather young. Maybe I won't be so sad if they don't sell. Then again, it's nice to think of a YN or beginning collector enjoying them again.

:)

Share the pics with your sister if nothing else!

A quick note. The Barber Dime shown is undergraded. More like VF 35 to EF 40

The 1952 S QTR is VF 20

This lot is a great deal. Someone is going to get a nice buy!

Thanks, Bruce - I was trying to be a bit conservative with my grades. I hadn't really looked at the quarter very closely until I photographed it. I rather like the look of it. Matter of fact, I like the rest of the coins as well. If this doesn't sell soon, I'm going to have seller's remorse and pull it before anyone buys it.

I'll still offer it for around $110 for now. If I pull it and decide to sell later, I'm going to have a somewhat higher asking price.

If I hadn't just bought those Morgan Dollars for my cousin's date set, I'd be all over this as well. I wish I had these coins when I started my Dansco 7070!

Hopefully the lot will go to a deserving YN.
