Grade this $10 Indian. (Caution, Big Pics). GRADE POSTED.

Here's a coin that I've owned for 20ish years. It is in an old rattler. Just for interests sakes what would you grade it? The images were done by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job. I'll post the slab grade the latter part of this afternoon my time (CA.).

 

EDITED TO ADD: What may look like rim dings are actually the holder thingies in the old rattler. SEE CURRENT END OF POST FOR SLABBED GRADE.

I thought 58 initially. But it looks like the luster int he fields is complete. Not too many severe marks, so I would say 63.

The coin is an AU with MS atributes.

It is graded MS62 in the rattler.

Nice coin, and very nice grade -- that's a great 62 IMO, and it has an obverse which would be very difficult to outdo in that grade.

Based on the fact I don't see too much chatter in the fields, I suspect this coin would grade unc today.

 

Rattler grade: AU55.

 

Todays grade: MS64.

 

Those are my guesses, but I don't necessarily agree with them.
