  1. There is now a sticker “sight white” I have seen on some coins. CAC is recognized in the market as top tier because their reputation of grading is considered some of the best in the market. I also think CAC coins have a better chance of crossover from one TPG to another.
  2. I sold bearings and seals to a company in Ohio that built some of the presses used at various locations of the mint. When machines were completed they had test runs before shipping. Everything was guarded like Fort Knox during testing! The whole process and volume rates were amazing to say the least!
  3. Good luck with your collecting endeavors. I applaud you for coming on the board and looking for help with your quarter. It is disappointing that a dealer incorrectly told you the quarter was silver. Enjoy your day.
  4. No for grading. Would be great in a nice album though. happy Collecting!
  5. In MS67+RB you are correct. In MS67+RD PCGS coin sold on Heritage for $6,600. on 12/15/22. It also is adorned with the CAC sticker.
  6. Based on other auction results the price on this example is the lowest one for the date and mint in their RB description. Actually, it seems the only one having the 67+RB so designated by NGC. There have been others auctioned with the designation 67+RD.
  7. You should probably look at Heritage Auctions and see what historical prices on the 1957-D in MS67+ have been bringing. In December, 2022, an example in a PCGS holder sold for $6,600. with CAC including fees.
  8. Very nice! I actually like the design on these.
  9. Pretty sure the 1955-d quarter is more than face value. Not enough value to get it graded though.
  10. IMO there is also condition rarity. Many dates and mints in a series had large mintages with not many high quality survivors. Two series that come to mind are Franklin half dollars and silver Roosevelt dimes. Both are relatively easy to put together in a nice BU set. But putting together sets in high grade with full strikes is a major challenge!
  11. $1,500. including shipping and insurance. Paypal preferred. Really nice set including 17 state quarters graded as proof 70. Those states include California, Minnesota, Kansas, West Virginia, Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii. Pictures upon request. Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!
  12. Both! I still recall when I won an auction on Teletrade for a group of 5 coins maybe in the 90's. I do have quite a few of the older generation holders including generation 8 holders which were supposedly only used for a very short time. (I've some speculation saying weeks.)
  13. You are correct on the NGC but I would like to add that old NGC holders have 5 digits in the certification number prior to the dash.
  14. I would like to see pictures of this coin auctioned in July 2022 and again this month showing a different grade for the same coin with the same certification number.
  15. This is not the case. If a coin is submitted for regrade it gets a new certification number. The first digits of the certification before the - dash are the invoice number from whomever submitted the coin. Only time the certification number is retained is when a coin is submitted for reholdering.
  16. Asking $700. postage paid. Prefer paypal. May consider trades for other coins I need.
  17. Nice purchase. I really like the presidential gold coins. One of my favorites sets. I also like the Kennedy half proofs in the PF69 grade!
  18. The 1965, 1966 and 1967 SMS quarters and halves were very popular for receiving the star designation.
  19. It looks like a carbon spot to me.
  20. I have sold on GC for many years off and on and never used the add on services. People looking for specific coins or series know how to find them so I never felt it necessary for the added fees.
