About 6000 were minted, apparently by mistake. None are known in BU, like the MS65 sort of condition from the mint set. Have seen one with marks that came from a mint bag, and looked MS62 at best
Most seemed to have been found near Perth. I don't know, but didn't Perth mint stop minting coins around then ? maybe they made the mistake.
Royal Australian Mint in Canberra mints all our circulation coins, have done for some time. I just can't remember how far back it was when they took over all circulation duties
Perth mint now just mints (mostly)

Just in from NGC.. that mule.. and an idea I had to showcase it
For those who haven't seen them side by side, here is the 10c and $1 from a mint set, the mule coin is made from the 10c on the $1 blank causing a double rim from the oversized blank/collar

Wow that is a nice medal well done
For Rey.. the 1885M is coming back NGC XF40.. it was "Very Fine"

Got this lovely Uncirculated mule 10c.. circa 1970
Light toning on the.... uhh.. reverse.. no.. the other one

Nice guess on the sov Rey, MS63
Feel a bit let down, but its premium for a 63 (Hopes it comes back with a *)

My latest Does it count as a world coin .. its from somewhere in the world

A fair few UNC syd mints dont have the full braiding lines below her ear. The fine detail in the hair is also pretty much perfect, an early strike, I am expecting MS64 the more I look at it. Purchased as Choice UNC

Won't be long now few days to a week and it will be graded...

This is the 1868 Sovereign I posted images of.. seen here scanned in a flip. Has since been sent to NGC hoping for a 64 While I'm on waiting for it to be graded, any guesses at what NGC will give it are welcome!
Contact marks are mainly the bunch on the reverse above the bow, otherwise only some very light ones !
