    I love you NGC
    So happy.. NGC did indeed receive my proof Canberra florin, and with my special instructions - asking them to send to NCS if they thought they could improve the appearance.. it is now at NCS ! talk about service
    In other news, I started another set. Australia's Half Sovereigns. The obvious next step since I have one of 7 already.
    I think I will go for a reasonably matched set in XF which will make some cheap, and all readily available

    The first Aussie proof sold to the public. Opening of the Parliament House (now "Old Parliament House")
    400 struck. Issue for 2 Shillings and Sixpence. Many orders were 50 to a dealer who sold them on to the US who were the primary collectors of proof coins at the time.
    Many here however have been circulated. This coin came from a box of MS florins! I'll take that said the finder.
    Quite a few are white and polished, some of those are very ugly. So quite desirable in FDC, grades of 66+ prices are above 40k AUD

    2009 Gilt Kooka was a no show today
    At the Perth ANDA coin show. Perth Mint told me the series is over! I am very disappointed, but there you go
    KEY DATE is 2008, only 3000 minted vs 10,000 for each of the earlier dates. I was tempted to buy some more today..

    I never outright said PCGS should not be allowed. I have nothing against PCGS slabs.
    I want to know what is the deal with PCGS GENUINE. PROBLEM coins yet they have a PCGS Serial
    Jesus talk about controversy.
    I'll never forget this though, very funny ! one says buy the coin not the slab, the other complains his coin is worth $5000 less in different plastic !

    Are PCGS Genuine slabs identifiable in any way by serial ?
     
    If you enter a damaged coin in the NGC registry using only its serial number, what happens ?Hopefully the problem coins are kept out automatically.If not, then what to do ? they could a) Disallow PCGS coins from the registry. Give a coupon to anyone who wants to stay, and crossover at a discounted rateI don't like this idea either, but just because I posted it doesn't mean you have to start insulting me..b) Allow NCS coins, and slash the points on both NCS and PCGS coins. This discourages using PCGS coins in the NGC registry.. they can just go to the PCGS registry anywayAny other ideas?No this is not an anti PCGS rant. Please do not fire off without reading first !

    How long until the mint melts the 2008-W spouses ?
    I got the mint figures from some site recently. Coinnews.net possibly. Anyway the first in the series had mintages of 20,000 (rumour has it some early spouses were melted during the metals boom)
    Van Buren's Liberty PF is sitting at 4834 pieces minted ! 5935 for Jackson's Liberty PF
    Mine arrived from a fellow CS member today, thanks again Sam ! PF70 Ultra Cameo
    A pity about the dust and fine scratches on the slab, but that's another story! kudos to NGC for the new anti scratch layer. One day I'll get those.. one day
    This coin to me sets an example for moderns - why buy an original seated liberty.. I can have it in half oz gold, perfect proof. It is a STUNNING design. At least I can also appreciate why people love the original coins..

    1937 1/2 Sov PF66 CAMEO
    The price seemed a bit high at first but they have actually gone up in sales so its about right now. Cannot wait to get it. Also a nice original 1937 Proof set case, should be in good condition as asked
    Finally paid him for it, this is going to be great. All I need now is.. the 1 Sov, and a box for them. The last part is very easy.. the 1 Sov will be difficult but it will come. And then it will be home..
    I'll replace this picture when I have 3 of 4 sitting in the box on my table

    And some of you out there too
    It seems the backlog is clearing, people reporting shipments of stuff they ordered in December, I still have stuff too - Van Buren PF, 1/10 eagles and now the UHR and presidents AND Lincoln commems (which I ordered heaps of, these are gorgeous and so timely)
    A change of carrier (UPS) has slowed things, what else ? new fulfillment center ? we can expect this to clear out soon
    Bottom line make sure you have funds ! I think we will all be hit soon and hard. I am going to have to deposit some more, and I think I will cancel the Van Buren's to make way for Lincoln since someone got and sent me a PF70 good on ya Sam !

    Please let it be true. I thought this baby was lost and had missed its scan on the way out of customs.. but I track and now it shows delivered !!
    Don't believe everything bad you read about USPS. I could be fuming at the delay, but at least my beautiful little florin is safe? I wont be totally relaxed until it comes up RECEIVED at NGC.. long night of checking ahead!
    Nothing yet.. but it is a PROOF that was found in a box of MS florins. NGC are probably eyeing it carefully before entereing it into the computer as either MS or PF
    OH I AM STOKED THANKYOU NGC !
    IT IS AT NCS I put in the special instructions that if NCS could improve it then I would like it to go there.. and they have done that !!

    Anyone who got an order in very early, what is your backorder date ? by very early I mean.. it went on sale at 12:00, your order needs to be completed by 12:15 to be considered early
    I just got backorder 18th Feb.. both book and coin
    Are they shipping to anyone yet ? wonder who got in first if you got in by 12:05 I will be impressed
     
    AHH NGC you are a clever lot !! look at this.. there is no decided date for Early Release yet. In their infinite wisdom NGC may have decided to make it "1 month from the first coin shipped" which makes perfect sense

    MS66 ?! WHAT
    I sent a few brand new proof $1 silver subscription coins, NGC seems to have made a serious mistake
    My 2006 "pillar dollar" replica has been graded MS66
    I am dumbfounded how it could not be graded PF69 or PF70. I will post more as I find out what has happened.. here is the coin, I can only imagine there was no research into it
    I noted the coins as SUBSCRIPTION SERIES however, which was also ignored. I sent an email which described the situation while the coins were in the post. Pretty disappointed today
    UPDATE - once again NGC may be smarter than me, the coin may or not be a proof striking METHOD but the certificate refers to it as "antique finish" and not proof. I think it is the only one with this finish in the series, strangely. The 2007 ONE JOHANNA is PF69 UC

    Australia's Sovereigns type set complete
    Having some problems with the signature set itself, but my set is now complete. FIXED ! all images shown and grades correct! I simply deleted the coin from the slot, saved, came back and entered the coin, it didn't fill in the grade (problem here) and once I then edited that coin all in one hit it saved correctly!
    Ok back to the set. One each of Australia's Sovereigns. 9 coins in all, 7 in Choice Mint State and one available upgrade. I will find a Choice 1871S (63-65) the first date of the Shield, to replace the XF45.
    This leaves only the first and hardest which I will probably never upgrade past AU50 !
    But, here is a lovely example to finish this set, my favourite. Now I just need to reholder them into these fine new slabs I guess ! or at least get someone to take photos so they all look the same reholder sounds pretty good

    What a beauty.. should I slab a few coins !
    This release was missed by many until NZ post was already running low on stock. I am lucky enough to have a few of these, I wonder should I slab some of the coins ! any thoughts ? this is the only way to get the coin, and it has a mintage of 4000
    The PNC has sold from anywhere between $75 (ebay got flooded) and $170 (first few sales). I wonder what would be paid for a slabbed MS70 ! this is very interesting to me. If you have comments let me know!

    I reiterate my comments to all of you out there.. and add some more general advice
    Beware unknown website links, MSN spammed ones especially. Any message or popup you don't expect. Avoid ALL of those "you have won" rubbish on sites which even appear on ImageShack now. And that goes for the "You are infected" rubbish too. So many fake antivirus programs exist now, they can't even really detect viruses. They exist only to get you to put in that credit card number. If you don't click the site, you won't download the "AVInstall" or whatever, and you won't get infected in the first place. Don't get tricked into clicking things!
    In fact so many websites are malicious, consider disabling Javascript (even Firefox users)
    Keep Windows updated !
    Good antivirus ! NOD32
    Use online scanners ! Microsoft OneCare is actually one of the best AV engines in the world, for some malware it is THE best bar none.

    Why ring at 12 ?
    Ring 10 minutes early, then by the time you get through you are right on the ordering buzzer. If you get through early you can easy talk for a few minutes.. ask the price of something
    I almost did this but was doing something so went with the internet
    And to jxs525 wow you are right so is mine. It could still be wrong, but that is a great sign !!
    Although I have had a coin "in stock" a spouse proof.. still hasnt shipped and has been in stock for ages apparently..

    Many 1855 sovs will not grade, and I don't plan on sending this one to NCS.

    Hard to put into words.. It will feel very good if this coin slabs. It will be a huge disappointment if not.
    It comes from Australia's top auction house and I expect it to grade. If not there will be some anger too, I have had a coin with a scratch from them before (a little elusive, but it was there)
    My other stuff.. well there is an error but I have emailed to let them know. Looks like World Modern is a lot more of a wait than World Gold at the moment ! 1 day vs who knows ? still scheduled for grading
