  1. Nice ones all. Here are two of my newest. The first is an 1947 Centennial Commemorative for Thomas Alva Edison 1847-1947. The second is a 1997 Cuba Proof Commemorative of 150 years of Railway for the Spanischebrotli Railway 10 Pesos.

(Please excuse the looming image on the second obverse peering into the field of the coin - I should have gotten out of the way. Also, as I mentioned previously I am acquiring some of the limited pieces dealing with Edison since my father collected Antique Light Bulbs as well as coins. I recently discovered something that makes such a unique connection in regards to our collection - will reveal in a future post)

Simple yet interesting for different reasons

  2. Very nice everyone, I too love that Trime, nice Barber as well.

This one is not as "interesting" as those but as a new addition to my collection it does mean something. My father not only collected coins but also collected antique incandescent lamps (light bulbs) and even has some Edison originals. I saw this and decided to pick it up. PCGS PF 69 2004

  3. Since this thread seems to get more traffic than the token/medal thread, I wanted to share this latest acquisition here. A commemorative coin celebrating the 250 year Pilgrim Jubilee Memorial. 1620 to 1870 (date of the piece). Although it is bronze or copper which is evident and is toned, the details on this are magnificent and so detailed. I am in the process of investigating the orign of this any input would be greatly appreciated.i

  4. Dwaine,

Nice Lincoln and yes thd 1970 S Tripled Die Obverse is listed in the CP guide. Described as a moderately strong tripled die, with equal separation between hubbings visible on date, Liberty and motto. Look at the L and B in leberth and the 7 and 0 in the date. USS 9 First discovered in 1985, for some reason has not received much popularity among specialists.

I think it is a very nice addtion, congratulations.

  5. Harvey,

Nice pick up there, mine has reverse damage so need to replace at some point. Here are two I purchased yesterday from our fellow member Doogy in order to upgrade the 1922 and 1922 D in our collection.

  6. I had posted this on the Numimatic Tangents Forum inquiring about it's origin, or any other information. Thanks to Chris, Tom and others who provided me with great resources this afternoon to better understand this piece.

1892 Liberty Head Dollar (So Called Dollar) HK-220. (251-500 pieces known - is that correct Chris?)

As Tom B described it in so many words, perhaps not value but coolness is the attraction of this piece, and I totally agree.

    $28.00
