Not necessarily an acquistion, but a new coin I don't believe I had come across yet while going through an assortment of world coins.
An 188* coin but that is as far as I have gotten.
Any assistance is welcome.

Tom,
That is a lovely 1914 Lincoln, I had never seen it before, quite a coin. Love the colors/toning.

Probably allowing my folks to give my first wife a $20 Gold Piece to make a necklace out of. She never had it made into a necklace and I never saw it again.

Mr. Lincoln and I would like for others to provide their Two Cents Worth on the following two cents.
Better Coin/Grade - The 1959 or the 1960

WOW, now that one is definitely without a question clear as day. Very nice.
Don't even need my reading glasses to see the Double Die

In keeping with the $.05 denomination, here are two Buffalo Nickels both of which I believe are the "two feathers" variety the best I can tell. I have looked closely under magnification and can not find any evidence of the smaller feather that should be lie between the neck and innermost feather on these. The first is perhaps a 1915 or 1917 and the second one is a 1926 D.
If there is anything that would indicate these are not, please let me know. As Mark Twain said, "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble, it's what you know for sure that just ain't so."
(Dooley - Found one more of these in the album)
Thanks,

NIce '53 Half Cent. I have an 1853 that was unfortunate to fall into the hands of someone at some point who thought it would look much better as an all bright and shiny piece of copper. Needless to say it will never see an NGC or PCGS slab. Very unfortunate.
Yours is very nice looking.

That 1881 is one beautiful Morgan, unbelievable. I wish I had seen her in Baltimore last week.
Here are my latest two additions to my official catalogue of coins. Nowhere near the beauty of the last coin.
I am thinking perhaps MS-62 or 63 on each of these. Thoughts anyone?

Copy and past the last of the three choices on photobucket, the one that starts with IMG.

An 1871 S$1 MS-62

That makes my 1866 3 cent look rather boring, dull and without much character. That is a very nice looking coin.

Here are five more coins in our collection that unfortunately had been cleaned at some point in the past. I wish someone would have had better sense but all the same they are still a welcome part of our collection. Just got the details back on them.
1877-CC 50C AU 58 Details
1878-S TR$ AU 58 Details
1853 1C N-13 MS 60 Details
1818 1C N-10 AU 55 Details
1904 1C AU 55 Details

Unfortunately these two coins had been cleaned so they were sent off to ANACS for grading. Both came back MS 60 Details, 1837 50C and 1859-O $1. Still happy to have them in my collection.

Don't think I can get close enough but I would venture to guess late 17th century time frame.

Saen - Good as Gold on that one. John, magnificent coin there, Sunshine I guess, and Bob, very nice 1951. In fact all nice Franklins there.
This one is less exciting appearance wise - 1956 Mint Set Franklin
