  1. My guess would be, from looking at the obverse only, PF 65. There are some light scratches around the rim, and some blemishes, but overall a outstanding coin!
  2. This is just a case of strike, or machine doubling. Caused by a lose die. Never give up. Keep trying. Just make sure to not be searching for that one million dollar error coin. You probably won't find one. Keep on goin. =)
  3. So, do you guys have any suggestions for good storage methods? I checked Whitman publishing but they don't have what I need. I need something that either has the ability to reload pages, or one that has 150 slots in it. I know I need mylar flips, those I can get at my local Barnes and Noble, but I need a big album. Thanks! =)
  4. Not true, I take high quality pics, and decrease size slightly through photoshop. Turn out just fine.
  5. Interesting coin. Might be a doubled die, but I can't be sure. Might be damage.
  6. This is a very impressive collection! Nice work!
  7. Really any copper? Cuase I got a nice memorial, but you guys have really great stuff.
  8. Agreed with @Greenstang, also, these coins seem to have no numismatic value. Just $1 dollar coins.
  9. Hmm. I tend to have issues with that. It blocks out my lighting. You can't just zoom in so I need to get close.
  10. Indeed. Use manual focus, and aim from an angle. That'll make it easy. For me at least.
  11. Agreed, both of you. In fact I was worried about PVC when I bought the book, but I thought if I kept a close eye on them I could get them out if something fishy started. My main issue with flips is that want to present my coins in an album. Still trying to find the best solution. Thanks for your input!
  12. Just wanted to show off three years of collecting. I've found a lot of wheaties through the years. Some of them showed up in strange ways... My page of wheaties in my book. A 1937 I found recently. Found in a big pile of change I was given. Found some others too! Found this one in my return vent! A pretty rough 1919 from Philadelphia. Low grade, still fun to find! And that's some highlights of my collection. I have a vial of other ones too. Some S's in there. Good day. =)
  13. Interesting coins. Hopefully not! I'm sure there are some real coins in there. See if there are any wheats. Those will probably be genuine. =)
  14. I do have to say, the "OP" (what does that stand for?) was asking an innocent question. Yes, there are a lot of folks asking about PMD's claiming to have found "rare errors", but : A: The OP didn't say this was an error. They found the coin interesting and were interested in any info. We know it's a PMD, but they might be new to the hobby. B: Haven't we all gone through the "error hunting" stage? I started there, then I got my self straight, and started collecting real coins. Just wanted to point that out.
  15. Your coins are worth something, if they were real. Sadly, as he have been notified they are counterfeit. Really, there is one factor that really gives these coins away: The strike is too shallow. The details should be far deeper.
  16. LOL, we are very different. I keep every wheatie I find. No matter how corroded, damaged, in the case of 43's, rusted, I keep em' all.
  17. I'm not sure it's genuine. Something feels wrong about the toning and the general condition of the coin. I can't say, I've never actually seen a 2 cent, so somebody more qualified would have to tell you. Only one million of these were minted, and judging from the condition of your coin it's worth around $95 if genuine. Overall, not worth sending in to get graded. You should only send a coin for grading if your sure it's worth over $100 dollars. Hopefully somebody will be able to tell you if it's a counterfeit or not. Good day.
  18. I don't think so. It looks more like machine doubling to me. Just caused by a loose die. Nice coin though!
